Whether it is cargo to India from UK or any other destination, the capacity issue persists. According to figures, the air cargo is still 12% behind reaching the required capacity.

This is a small percentage but at peak seasons the
issue becomes bigger and difficult to handle. COVID-19 changed the way people
used to function, and there are still many disturbances in many areas.
Passenger planes were converted to cargo planes by either pulling out the seats
or using the planes as it is by putting the cargo on its seats.

The reason for the surge in air cargo usage was
increased rates of sea freight and also problems in the supply chain. Because
not to a large extent but supply chain problems did persist in air cargo also. Air cargo
is always the fastest medium and people use it to send cargo timely to the
other end.

That is why air cargo gained popularity in the days
of the recent pandemic. The rate issues, increased demand, limited capacity of
aeroplanes, and the airports count a lot in the procedure of air cargo
transfer.

Using a plane for dual purposes is of advantage to both parties

It happened that either the airlines started to
convert the planes into freighters or use them as it is to transfer cargo. This
did not make them alternate the plane and the cargo and the passengers can be
carried at the same time or even without passengers. When the travelling
limitations were imposed people had to restrict their activity.

These planes were named freighters. Now as the
circumstances have come back to normal this arrangement has been reversed. The
advantage of this setup is that the freight does not have to wait for the right
time and date of the take-off of the flight. The cargo can travel at any time
the flight is scheduled.

This means a faster transfer of the cargo along with
the passengers. This was implied because of the rising fuel prices around the
world and also due to less capacity in the aircraft due to normal passenger
activity. So now the same question is at hand, how to increase the capacity of
air cargo services to cope with the demand. For this, the airlines have taken
measures which are going to be implied soon.

To increase the capacity some measures are taken

The airlines are now ordering new aeroplanes to be
used as freighters. These are made exclusively for the purpose and have a good
amount of space for any type of cargo meaning the shortage will be settled.
Also, there is a thought that the charter planes are going to be of service for
the cargo transfer.

These are comparatively faster and give a more
reliable service to the customers. Although the space is lesser these can be
used as a faster medium to sort out cargo quicker. Until new aeroplanes are not
added and the capacity of other related elements is not increased the problem
is going to persist. This shortage becomes a greater problem when there are
peak seasons especially when the route is from the UK to India.

Because many Indians are residing in the UK and use air cargo to reach their loved ones on different occasions. Otherwise, I can book from cargo to India near me and my gifts reach at the exact time of occasion. Yes, these can get delayed due to the peak at that time but if sent at the right time before the day there will be no blunder.

Many services are offered to speed up the delivery time further

The air freight service comes with many options to
avail to get the cargo to the other end on time. It depends on which service
you choose according to how much time you have. The door to door
cargo to India is a popular one on the list. This one is
handy and the sender does not have to do a lot in the process.

The whole responsibility of every step is on the cargo service provider. This service can further speed up things for the sender and the cargo can reach the receiver on the doorstep. You must choose a reliable source though with good repute to hand over your valuables to them. The chances of a mishap become very low like this.

The cargo sent through the door-to-door cargo service is cleared quickly and the warehousing is for a shorter time. The agents at the receiver port quickly become active to pick up the cargo and take it to the destination without any delay. This keeps the space available for other cargo and the pile does not build up. The longer a cargo has to be in the warehouse the more charges and the whole cycle for other cargo gets disturbed.

The Industry Continues to Adjust to new Demands Even though the COVID period is over and the cargo activities are back to normal, there are still many changes the air cargo industry needs.
