Becoming problematic for one and favourable for the other

A relationship between countries is a very complicated affair. Some do respect the once friendly relation and keep it like that and at least remain loyal if not friendly. But some do want to take advantage of any tough situations the other party is in.

It cannot be said that this is happening in the case of UK and India but there is a chance that India will be an advantage if there is no deal between UK and EU. The so-called deal that has happened between the two is temporary and will end after 21 months and after that, a new agreement has to be finalized.

This is a tough thing to do as after the Exit has really happened there are more things to concentrate on. And with it, a permanent and acceptable agreement has to be formulated again.

India, on the other hand, can get a good trade deal with EU when there are lesser countries to agree upon. While India is also a major partner in the UK economy as the UK generate great revenue every year by sea and air cargo to India from UK. So from both ends, it is a positive offer for India.

Problems for UK increasing day by day

It is not a new thing as matters are getting to the worst side from the day referendum has happened. Many think that their expectations are not met and others think that talks are going in the opposite direction. So basically it has been the government not able to take the country in confidence.

The opposition and even some members of the government are in favour of bold stance from the UK. But the border of Ireland is important to remain connected to the EU countries and if the traffic across it does not remain free there will be a rise in tariffs and things for the trade become unfavourable.

UK’s reach towards other countries

To enhance the cargo trade internationally there have to be strong ties around. As Britain is now going to be an independent entity there have to be some strong partners. India is among those having a long relationship which is still flourishing instead of all the hard and uncertain times.

The talks going to happen in December are also another try to settle something fit for both ends. There are companies working on both sides and they contribute major parts in each other’s economy. So having strong ties will make the future bright for more investment.

India to get most out of any agreement with the UK

India has gained a position where it can do deals on equal bases. The trade ranking has improved to a large extent for India and Modi government has played an important part in it. There are some conditions which India has put forward if any agreement has to be reached.

But any talks will happen after Britain has opted out of EU. There are very bright chances where a proper and fruitful deal is going to take place with the passage of time. As both know that it is important for the two, not anyone.
